Together with our partners in Maine's Environmental Priorities Coalition we recently presented lawmakers with a compass and a trail map to help them navigate the numerous bills being considered in Augusta this year. Protecting Maine's environmental legacy takes vision and vigilance. Maine lawmakers have an important role to play and we're counting on them to help preserve our environment so Maine people and Maine's economy can thrive.

Top issues on the EPC’s policy agenda include efforts to protect forests and stream crossings, prevent exposure to dangerous chemicals, ensure healthy air for all Maine people, and encourage energy-efficient development.

The Environmental Priorities Coalition is an influential voice at the Maine State House and has a strong track record of success. In 2009, five of the EPC's six priority bills were passed by the Maine Legislature and signed into law.
